Do You Know Every Single One of your Facebook Friends?

March 6, 2013 Updated Mar 6, 2013 at 9:56 AM EST

For many of us, Facebook has become an unorganized jumble of close friends, acquaintances, and people you don't even know. A Connecticut-based photographer is on a quest to make his friends list his life.

Photographer Ty Morin released this video. He is planning to track down all 788 of his Facebook friends in person, one-by-one, then shoot a portrait of each person doing something they're passionate about.

Morin says it will not only be fun, but also an effort to reclaim some of the human connection lost in an increasingly digital world.

And to really spend time with his friends-turned-subjects, Morin will be using an 8x10 camera, meaning each portrait will take about an hour to finish.

Morin says he's actually never met more than half of his Facebook friends so he plans on making real-life friends along his journey. He will not only shoot portraits, but also document his journey on video for a future film.

Morin estimates the project will take at least a couple of years, but believes it'll pay off when completed.

Many of us look at numbers instead of the real, living, breathing people behind the profile so Morin is taking social media connection to the next level.
