South Charleston woman seeks lost wedding, engagement rings
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A South Charleston woman is seeking the return of her engagement and wedding rings, which she lost at a local recycling center.
Tabitha Smith told The Saturday Gazette-Mail that she and her friend were in a car on Friday waiting to discard their recyclable waste. Smith said she thinks the rings, which were soldered together, slid off her finger when she handed her friend a tissue.
About 30 minutes later, the 25-year-old Smith realized her rings were gone.
Smith said that security video from the center showed a white man and woman in a blue SUV pulled up and started to dump items. The man saw the ring on the ground, then held it up to study it, showed it to the woman before driving off.
